Tom and Luke Stoltman in spotlight on big weekend for world’s strongest brothers

ROSS-SHIRE’s world-beating strongman brothers grabbed the limelight in neighbouring countries over a memorable weekend.

As previously reported, Luke Stoltman claimed his first Britain’s Strongest Man title in Sheffield at the age of 40.

Younger brother Tom, three-time winner and current holder of the World’s Strongest Man title, was seen by an audience of millions carrying the match ball on to Murrayfield in Edinburgh ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations’ victory over Italy.

Amongst the first of hundreds to congratulate Luke was “little” brother Tom himself who posted: “Silenced the whole British strongman scene. Love ya bro.”

Luke has previously won Europe’s Strongest Man twice in 2021 and 2024 and has also won Scotland’s Strongest Man five times.

Meanwhile 6ft 8in Tom’s nonchalant entrance on to the pitch at Murrayfield with match ball held in one hand highlighted his giant stature as he dwarfed the referee when handing it over. One excitable commentator observed of the “big fella”: “Eats 13,000 calroies a day - that’s a whole Rory Lawson!”

The reference was to the former Scottish rugby union player who starred at scrum-half.

Anyone visiting Invergordon - amongst them hundreds of thousands of cruise line passengers from around the world - is left in no doubt about its connections to the world’s strongest brothers with specially commissioned signs commemorating the fact.
