ROSS County secured a confidence-lifting victory over Hibernian under the floodlights in Dingwall tonight.

Substitute Blair Spittal's goal in the 72nd minute of the match proved decisive as the Staggies claimed all three points.

Ross County remain bottom of the table but are now just a point behind 11th placed Dundee.

Manager Malky Mackay said after the game the side had been playing well recently without getting results and that had his men capitalised on chances, the win would have been more comfortable.

Spittal's strike came in fortuitous fashion with a low cross finding its way into the Hibs net, the only goal of the match.

The Staggies will now be relishing building on that momentum when Dundee United come calling on Saturday.

County fans took to social media to praise the side with Dennis MacFadden summing up the feeling of many: "A massive well-needed three points. Well done guys."
