DELAYS are causing further disruption on several Highland railway lines – after continued heavy rain sparked further speed restrictions.
ScotRail has warned passengers that the speed restrictions will affect services on the Kyle, Far North and West Highland lines until at least 1pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman said: "We have speed restrictions in place today (Wednesday) following heavy rainfall over the past few days.
"Services may be subject to delays because of the speed restrictions. If you are making an essential journey, please check the app or website to make sure your train is running before you leave the house."
The latest disruption follows a spate of cancellations and delays that stretch back to Sunday as a result of weekend strike action and subsequent torrential rain in the western Highlands.
