RAIL passengers are being warned of added speed restrictions on Kyle Line services ahead of more rain and strong winds tonight (Monday) and tomorrow.

ScotRail said that trains on part of the Kyle line will be restricted to 40mph from 6pm to 9pm tonight and that the rough weather is likely to continue into Tuesday.

"If you're travelling today or tomorrow, please be aware that we're expecting more heavy rain and strong winds," said a spokesman.

"Tonight from 6pm to 9pm, a 40mph speed restriction will be in place between Achnasheen and Kyle of Lochalsh, so please check before you travel."
