Specialist officers comb Invergordon High Street after ‘serious assault’





AN area in the heart of an Easter Ross town that was cordoned of following an early-hours incident was the subject of intense scrutiny earlier today.

As previously reported, a section of Invergordon High Street was cordoned of by police in the wake of an incident called in at around 1.30am this morning.

Police later confirmed two men were taken to hospital for treatment and were also arrested on suspicion of “serious assault”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at High Street, Invergordon, around 1.30am on Thursday, February 6.

“A 38-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were taken to hospital for treatment.

“Both were arrested in connection with serious assault and enquiries are ongoing.”
