Inverness Sheriff Court hears son accused of throwing candle at mother’s face in North Kessock

A 24-year-old Blairgowrie man appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with assaulting his mother at a house in North Kessock to her severe injury and danger of life on April 28 this year.

Alistair MacEachen is accused of seizing her by the neck, compressing it so her breathing was restricted and throwing a candle at her which struck her on the face.

He made no plea, was committed for further examination and released on bail by Sheriff Gary Aitken.
