The SNP's Westminster leader has criticised Boris Johnson as not fit for office during today's Prime Minister's Questions in Parliament.
Ian Blackford, the MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber, also called for the Prime Minister to be questioned about his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic under oath before the next General Election.
It followed revelations made by the PMs former special adviser, Dominic Cummings, in an interview which was broadcast on the BBC this week.
Speaking today Mr Blackford said: "Last night, we heard from the Prime Minister’s former chief of staff that, on October 15, the Prime Minister didn’t believe the NHS would be overwhelmed, and thought that over-80s should be sacrificed to the whims of this deadly virus."
He added: "Prime Minister, you wrote these words whilst our NHS was facing the darkest moment in its history. While doctors and nurses were fighting to contain the pandemic, you were actively pushing for the virus to be allowed to run rampant through towns and cities."
In addition he said the PM had put "folk at risk of an early death" and added: "The PM is simply not fit for office."
Mr Blackford called on Mr Johnson to confirm, in the interests of public health and confidence, that the Covid-19 Inquiry would begin immediately and to commit to appearing at the hearing himself under oath, before any General Election was called.
He added: "The reality is, Mr Speaker, that the only way to get to the full truth over this UK government’s disastrous handling of the pandemic, is for this cabal to be made to answer under oath."
