THE leader of The Highland Council has welcomed an announcement by medical technology company ODx that it is expanding its centre for scientific excellence at Inverness Campus – and creating up to 60 additional jobs.

Cllr Margaret Davidson said: “This is great news for Inverness and the Highlands that ODx are creating new jobs for the region, at a time of huge economic impact due to COVID-19.

“I welcome these new posts at the Inverness Campus which I understand will include assembly technicians, lab, office and clinical staff, who will support the development of a device that helps detect the ability of urinary tract infections (UTIs) to resist antibiotics. It is also pleasing to learn that flexible work shift patterns will be in place at the ODx base which is in line with current COVID-19 workplace requirements.

“I wish ODx the best of success with its expansion at the Campus as they develop their new medical technologies which are creating jobs in Highland.”
