CHRISTMAS came early this week for strongman siblings who have helped put the Easter Ross town of Invergordon on the radar of people around the world.

Luke and Tom Stoltman have enjoyed a meteoric rise in strongman competitions notching between them the cream of titles on a worldwide stage.

Now, they have been honoured in their backyard with brand new signs at entrances to the port town proclaiming their achievements to everyone entering the leaving.

Tom, who picked up a World's Strongest Man title earlier this year, said the pair were "extremely grateful".

The sign reads: Welcome to Invergordon Hometown of the Stoltman Brothers World, European and UK Strongest Men.

The town already welcomes visitors from around the world aboard mega cruise liners which, in normal years, bring hundreds of thousands into the port before embarking on tours of the Highlands.

But the dynamic duo have become a force to be reckoned with in their own right and are now confirmed as two of the biggest visitor attractions around.

The signs were the brainchild of Invergordon Community Council which was keen to honour the brothers. Chair Sally Northern said: "Invergordon Community Council are delighted to have arranged three new signs at the entrances to the town recognising the amazing achievements of Luke and Tom Stoltman.

"We are so proud of the World's Strongest Brothers for putting Invergordon well and truly on the map!

"Our thanks also to Highland Council Roads Department and Ansco Signs Limited, Muir of Ord for their help and guidance."
