Sheep sale figures from Dingwall Mart

DINGWALL and Highland Marts Ltd today sold 5069 breeding and store sheep.

Breeding ewes (3679) averaged £77.20 (£63.90 last year) and sold to £150 for a pen of Cheviots from Kintail, Newton of Ferintosh.

Feeding ewes (498) averaged £56.32 (£46.21 last year) and sold to £94 for a pen of Suffolk’s from 3 Ardmore, Waternish.

Gimmers (776) averaged £116.90 (£89.07 last year) and sold to £175 for Texel crosses from Keppoch Farm, Dundonnell (twice).

Rams and Feeding sheep (40) sold to £360 for a 2 shear Texel ram from 189 Fleucharry, Dornoch.

Lambs (76) sold to £64 for a pair of Cheviot’s from Blairich, Rogart.
