Shania Twain shout out for Black Isle designer at stunning Stirling Castle showcase
AN award-winning Black Isle-raised designer took her talents to a whole new stage with a superstar shout out for one of her stunning signature creations.
Siobhan Mackenzie has established a global reputation for a unique line of kilts which reflect her proud Scottish heritage and showcase her stunning design talents.
The Fortrose-raised designer, who has established her own brand, can now add ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ star Shania Twain to her glittering client list.
And Twain gave a special shout out to Siobhan whose specially designed leopard silk style kilt with gold preciosa crystals dazzled during the singer-songwriter’s performance at Stirling Castle.
Siobhan said: “I connected with her manager on Instagram, who just happened to be Scottish and helped make it possible for me to design for her!
“I knew instantly my leopard silk style was what I wanted to dress her in and I added gold preciosa crystals which are real crystals and give an incredible sparkle to garments.
“I also made her a gold sequin and couture tulle corset with matching cape sleeves but unfortunately the weather took a dip in Stirling and it was too cold for the full look - but I absolutely adore the final look she performed in and I think the black sweater allowed the kilt to shine in all its glory!
“I’m sure she will wear the corset another time where the Scottish weather isn’t at play! She gave me an incredible shout out on stage which was so lovely of her- I love to see women supporting women!”
Twain, who also performed Glastonbury and has a high-profile residency at Las Vegas, told her six million social media followers: “Scotland that was incredible!
“Playing in front of the beautiful 800-plus year old Stirling Castle felt very magical and I had to mark the occasion of course - an iconic kilt for an iconic setting!! Tartan meets leopard print made by the talented Siobhan Mackenzie.”
