Seven more registered Highland coronavirus cases as national death toll goes up by 46

Seven more people in the Highlands have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

They are among 399 new cases since yesterday, taking the national figure to 3001.

The number of deaths in Scotland increased by 46 to 172.

There are 72 confirmed cases in the NHS Highland area. Neighbouring Grampian has 108 cases.

The most are in the Greater Glasgow & Clyde health board area, where 779 people have been diagnosed with the disease.

So far there have been 19,535 Scottish tests carried out.
