Person airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and another taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after crash on A9 in Easter Ross, confirms Scottish Ambulance Service

A male was airlifted to hospital in Aberdeen and a female was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following a crash on the A9 in Easter Ross yesterday (Monday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene after two vehicles collided on the busy trunk road in Easter Ross at Tomich.

The A9 was closed at around 3.40pm on Monday between Tomich and Barbaraville following the crash, with the fire service, police and ambulances call attending.

In an update on Tuesday morning, the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) confirmed that a male was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the crash, while a female was taken to Raigmore in Inverness.

There were no details as to their condition, or whether they were adults or children.

A spokesperson for the SAS said: “We received a call at 3.45pm on Monday to attend a road traffic collision on the A9. We dispatched two ambulances, the Pict team. an air ambulance and our trauma team to the scene.

“We transported one female patient to Raigmore and airlifted one male patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

The road was closed for around six hours, with Traffic Scotland announcing the route had reopened in an update at 10pm.
