At Tain Sheriff Court the 24-year-old admitted driving dangerously and travelling at excessive speeds on July 23.

Sheriff Gary Aitken said that the offence was at the higher end of the dangerous driving scale.

He deferred sentencing until January 11 for the preparation of Criminal Justice social work reports and a restriction of liberty assessment.

Sheriff Aitken warned Murray: “It is in your own best interests that you cooperate."

He said he would hear the circumstances at the sentencing diet.

The sheriff went on to imposed an interim driving disqualification, banning Murray from the road.
