Horse riders from across Scotland came together on the Black Isle to take part in an endurance ride.

On July 20, the Scottish Endurance Riding Club’s Sheeppark Event took place, which saw 34 endurance riders and their horses travel from across Scotland to take part.

Local rider Tilly Hepburn-Wright and her Arabian horse called Oakthwaite Spirit won the Platinum Thistle Award, for completing the 120km class in just 12 hours and nine minutes.

The Sheeppark Event also saw 22 riders take part in the 23km and 16km pleasure classes.

One of the event organisers, Marina MacArthur said: “Everyone was successful and completed their ride and made for a very successful weekend.

“We, as the Highland branch of Scottish Endurance Riding Club, are very grateful to the MacDonald family at Sheeppark for allowing us to use their field for the weekend. We are also very grateful to all the Black Isle farmers and landowners who happily allowed us to ride on their land — without them this event couldn’t have taken place.

“Particular thanks must also go to event sponsors, for their generous donations of prizes for the competitors.”
