FORTROSE Academy has urged parents to ensure their children check their school Gmail accounts "regularly throughout the day" to ensure they can keep up to date with their work.

The school made the plea earlier this week after staff had trouble getting in regular contact with some S4-6 pupils.

A spokesman said: "Several staff have been trying to get in contact with pupils in the Senior Phase who have coursework/unit work to complete. Staff will use Gmail to do this.

"Unfortunately it seems many seniors are not checking their Gmail for this communication and staff are getting no response. If your child is in S4, 5 or 6 please ensure they check their school Gmail account regularly throughout the day and respond to any email from their teachers. Thank you.

"Can you please also ask pupils in S1-S3 to check their Gmail for new classroom codes and invitations.

"Departments are setting up new classrooms to provide work and although a huge number of S1-S3 pupils are getting online and completing work some have not opened their emails as yet. Thanks again!"
