A FUNDRAISING food truck initiative will support a Ross-shire event in aid of RNLI in September as part of its tour of events.

Mowi Scotland have announced new dates for the summer tour of their ‘Salmon Wagon’, which was launched by the company to help raise money for charities and communities across Scotland.

The food truck will attend the Maritime Day in Kyle on September 10, where proceeds form its offer of salmon fillets burgers and noodle salads will add to the fundraising for RNLI.

This is among ten other dates that the Salmon Wagon has on calendar while on tour around Scotland and with ten different charities that will benefit from the initiative.

Kicking off on May 2, 2022 the food truck an initiative created to raise money for charities and communities across Scotland by serving up delicious salmon fillet burgers and noodle salads, will hit the road to support ten fantastic causes.

The wagon arrives at events fully stocked by Mowi and manned by their talented chefs, meaning 100 per cent of proceeds from the sale of food benefits the chosen charities.

Jayne MacKay, community engagement officer at Mowi Scotland said: “We were set to launch the Salmon Wagon in March 2020 just when the pandemic took hold in Scotland so had to cancel all that year’s – and subsequent – events. It’s been a frustrating two years but we are delighted to finally see the striking Mowi Salmon Wagon hit the road.

“I think after what has been an extremely tough time for the country - not to mention the cancellation of countless events that have traditionally raised vital funds for communities - it will be great to get out to these gatherings and show our support for charities across Scotland.

“We are delighted to be working with the chosen ten events and can’t wait to serve up our tasty salmon to benefit local good causes. As a world leader in sustainability it is really important to Mowi to support the communities we work in and see them flourish and this is just a small part of that.”
