DAMAGED roads at sites across Wester Ross have been repaired by council workers as part of a wider campaign to repair rutted routes.

A number of projects have been completed recently as part of the council's prioritised area capital programme for 2021/22.

These have included edge strengthening and more ‘hot tar’ pothole repairs and a surface dressing programme on the A896 just south of Kinlochewe.

Elsewhere, the A896 between the Torridon Hotel and Annat underwent some "structural regulating", and there were fresh structural overlays on various sections of the route between Opinan, Mellon Udrigle and Laide.

In Kyle of Lochalsh, Stoney Road and Main Street underwent "planing and overlay" works. And, structural overlay and regulating works were also carried out at The Fain on the A832.

The works are part of a wider programme across the region as part of the council's Highland Roads Recovery campaign.

"It’s very important to know how to report damage to Highland Council-maintained roads and pavements (including potholes)," said a spokemsan. "This can be done by using the online forms on the council’s website at www.highland.gov.uk/report."

People can also follow the campaign's progress on Twitter via the #HighlandRoadsRecovery hashtag and @HighlandCouncil account, and www.facebook.com/highlandcouncil.
