Dingwall panto crew get into character for Red Riding Hood — with a twist!
REHEARSALS are now well underway for this year’s Dingwall panto which is again being staged in the town hall.
Dingwall Players’ version of Red Riding Hood by Jim Sperinck promises a suitably quirky take on the classic — and the welcome return of an old friend to the amateur dramatics group.
Co-directors Michael Fleming and Allan Thomson, along with the hard working cast, are aiming to put together a panto “that has something for everyone, young and old, to enjoy”.

If you think you know what to expect, think again! Promised to audiences in December are “some unexpected characters and situations!”
The baddie (The Sheriff ) is ready to evict Mother Hubbard (the panto Dame) from her house — but her daughter, Red Riding Hood, teams up with Robin Hood and his Merry Men in a bid to thwart the Sheriff’s evil plan.
Along the way they have to outsmart the Wolf and the Witch if their quest is to be successful.
Teeing up the shows, Dingwall Players announced: “We are delighted that this year the Dame is being played by Kinnon Clark, who we welcome back to Dingwall after studying drama in Glasgow. Kinnon has a long association with the club and it is great he has returned to perform in our own Town Hall. There are lots of laughs (hopefully), songs, opportunities to hiss and boo, wonderful costumes and of course sing a community song.”
The show will run from Thursday, December to Saturday, December 6, with two performances on Saturday. Curtain up for evenings is 7.30pm and for the matinee at 2.30pm.
Tickets will be priced at £12 for adults, £6 concession and children under 5 free.
Tickets will be available from Monday, November 3 at www.dingwallplayers.org
