TWO Ross-shire schools have been disrupted by issues on the first day of the new term.

Knockbreck Primary in Tain is closed with the reason posted by Highland Council as no water/heating/power.

St Clement's School in Dingwall is closed – although its nursery will be open, according to Highland Council – for the same reason.

The schools appear on Highland Council's school closures list posted this morning.

A number of other schools in Inverness-shire have been similarly affected.

The list is updated every morning at 7am and can be found here.

Highland Council also maintains a recorded message service.

Phone 0800 564 2272 to get the latest pre-recorded message from the head teacher of your child's school.

It advises parents and carers to have their school's PIN ready when they call.
