The work is described as extending in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 3km and will allow Scottish Water to lay new water main.
Local and emergency vehicle access will be maintained and alternative routes will be available and signposted.
It is scheduled to take place from Monday, June 16 until Friday, September 26.
Scottish Water says it is investing in the future of the local water network by upgrading the water pipes between Evanton and Dingwall.
It says the essential improvement work will help ensure its customers continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water for years to come, while also reducing the risk of bursts and unplanned disruption.
As part of the project, around 8.2 kilometres of new water mains will be installed at various locations along the route, strengthening the network and supporting the long-term resilience of the service in the area.
The work will be carried out on both private land and local roads, requiring various traffic management measures. This includes a road closure on a section of the A862 to ensure the safety of our teams and the public.
The Journal understands that dates for the upcoming road closure on the A862 may be subject to change to expedite the work.
