Kate Forbes MSP: Return to classrooms brings some normality after a very strange year.

THE return to school for thousands of pupils today will bring back a “a small element of normality” for young people across Ross-shire, a local MSP has said.

Dingwall-based constituency MSP Kate Forbes made her remarks as a new school term started in the Highlands with pupils returning to classrooms for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown in March.

Ms Forbes, whose Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch patch takes in Dingwall and the Black Isle, said: "I wish all the children going back to school the very best.

“I know it is has been a challenging time for many families, as parent juggle working from home, home-schooling and family life.

“Teachers, too, have been working hard to prepare for this week in a time of great uncertainty. I have spoken to Highland Council about their preparations, and I know that great strides have been made to get schools ready.

“It’s been a strange year for young people, and hopefully the return to school will bring back even a small element of normality.”
