Unwell walker triggers Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team callout in Wester Ross

A WALKER who took unwell in Wester Ross triggered a shout for a mountain rescue team yesterday.

Twenty members of the Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team responded to a call at around 4pm on Monday after receiving a report that a walker was in difficulty having become unwell while walking near Loch a'Bhraoin between Braemore and Dundonnell.

Team members were able to evacuate the casualty by stretcher to a 4x4 vehicle which took them to the public road and an ambulance for onward transport to hospital in Inverness.

It was the second shout in a matter of days for the team.

On Saturday, it was tasked to assist a walker with an ankle injury in the Loch Affric area. Team members attended with a 4x4 vehicle and were able to evacuate the casualty to the public road and transport to hospital by ambulance.
