A Ross-shire pensioner is to return to court next month after admitting threatening and abusive behaviour towards his neighbours.

Peter Stewart, of Fairmuir Road, Muir of Ord, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted acting in an abusive manner to multiple nearby residents on two occasions.

The court heard the 66-year-old first started acting aggressively to one neighbour between December 19, 2020, and May 13, 2021. He admitted repeatedly shouting, swearing, acting aggressively, and uttering threats of violence to the person.

And he also pled guilty to another count of similar behaviour, again at his home address, on March 16 last year.

The second charge involved multiple neighbours, according to court paperwork.

Sentence was deferred until September 8 for background reports.
