Muir of Ord neighbour dispute erupted over music played in garden

A neighbourly dispute boiled over when a pensioner was told his music was being played too loud as he did gardening with a pair of shears.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that 68-year-old Peter Stewart of Fairmuir Road, Muir of Ord, confronted his neighbour and was swinging the shears around shouting: "I will play music any time I like."

Fiscal depute Shay Treanor told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald that the row continued into the following day: "The accused threatened to get his family to go round and see his neighbours. Police were then contacted."

"If you stay out of trouble I will treat you leniently."
