A HIGHLAND MSP has announced that she is self isolating.

Kate Forbes MSP, Skye Lochaber and Badenoch, said a family member had tested positively for Covid and she needs to self isolate for the whole periods.

Ms Forbes, who was recently married, said: "Just a quick personal announcement for anybody I was due to see or meet this coming week.

"Last night, a family member tested positive for Covid. Everybody is fine, but it means I'll need to self-isolate for the full period."

She continued: "I've had two jabs, but it has been less than two weeks since my second jab so I cannot end self-isolation early.

"I was due to be in Edinburgh all of this week, giving evidence at a few committees and responding to a debate on the Mcvitie's factory in Tollcross. I'll do all of that virtually instead, but sadly cannot accommodate any planned constituency visits."

She added: "Thinking of everybody else in similar circumstances. I hope you're staying positive and well."
