A ROSS-SHIRE medical practice is teeing up the next cohort of patients due to be offered coronavirus vaccinations.

Tain and Fearn Area Medical Practice announced that it will soon start calling patients in the 75-79 years-old category to book appointments for the Covid vaccination.

And it notes that the number "may show up as 'withheld' or an 0800 number or even a '89****' style number."

It posted: "Please try and answer this call so we can make an appointment for you.

"Please share this message to make your friends and relatives aware if they do not have Facebook themselves. Thank you for your help."

GP practices are playing a lead in the rollout of the vaccination programme which is being done according to a priority system based on age and vulnerability.

The Easter Ross practice also shared Scottish Government information asking people NOT to phone their GP to ask for a vaccination appointment.

It states: "When it is your turn to receive a coronavirus vaccination, you will be contacted to arrange an appointment. Please do not phone your GP to ask for a vaccination appointment."
