A ROSS-SHIRE medical group has shared plans for its vaccination rollout with patients, warning that it will be staggering its over-80s programme because of limited stocks.

Kyle Medical Practice said in a social media post today that its first Covid vaccine clinic for registered patients over 80 will be next Thursday (January 21).

Echoing appeals from many other under-pressure medical groups to patients not to phone the practice, it said: "As we are only being supplied with small volumes of vaccines initially we will be doing some patients the week beginning the 18th and the rest of our over 80 year olds the week beginning the January 25.

"We are unable to do all the over 80s at one time as vaccine stock roll out is very limited at the moment. Housebound patients will be vaccinated by the district nursing team and will be contacted by them directly. Please do not phone the practice.

"We will phone you and give you a date and time to come to the Lighthouse Centre. Please do not arrive early or late for your appointment as we will be doing these vaccines in sittings of 10 people every 20 minutes so you will only get access to the centre (via the back door) at the time you have been asked to attend."

It warns patients they should not drive for 15 minutes after receiving the vaccines. It said: "You can sit in your car but must not drive home for 15 minutes."
