A Ross-shire medical practice has thanked its elderly cohort of registered patients for turning out in force to a specially arranged Covid vaccination clinic today.

Kyle Medical Practice said that 100 per cent of its patients aged over 80 turned up "on a very wild day" and received their first vaccine.

The practice posted: "It really felt fantastic to start vaccinating our patients. The district nursing team will be vaccinating the housebound patients over 80 next week and then we will be able to start on our 75-79 year olds after finishing the few remaining over 80s.

"Supply is still limited so not all 75-79 year olds will get their vaccine next week but as soon as we have more, we will get you booked in."

One grateful resident posted: "That’s great news that everyone turned up. My Dad being one of them. Well done to all staff involved and everyone making the effort on this wild day to go out and get it done."
