A BLACK Isle film festival has become the latest in a long line of eagerly anticipated Ross-shire events to be hit by the coronavirus crisis.
Organisers of Cromarty Film Festival said it was with "heavy hearts" that the decision about the event planned for December had been made.
It's a particularly bitter blow this year as the Black Isle town now has its own purpose-built cinema.
In a statement, organisers said: "We are so sorry to disappoint you. We're gutted too. We'll miss the buzz in the air, the dressing of the venues, the running around town looking for lost guests, the convivial chat in the bar and the general revelling in all things film.
"So during that first weekend in December, raise a glass to festivals past and think about your own favourite films, maybe even dig them out, cook up a curry and have your own wee gala event, basking in the wonder of a cracking film."
