Three members of the same family became embroiled in a brawl after comments were made about them by a car load of men.

The incident occurred in the car park outside the Mallard Bar in Dingwall on July 21 last year about 11.30pm.

Sean Stewart, aged 25 and 27-year-old Patrick Stewart, both of Ord Road, Marybank and 29-year-old Alexander Stewart of Wavell Gunn Road, Dingwall had arrived at the public house around the same time as the vehicle.

Fiscal depute Victoria Silver told Sheriff Sara Matheson that Sean and Patrick Stewart approached the vehicle "it became aggressive and he was saying' come on then.'

"Sean Stewart then went to the driver's side and punched the driver in the face. There was a stand-up fight lasting under a minute in the car park."

Sean Stewart's lawyer, Kevin Hughes said: "Alcohol had been consumed and there was a loss of control. The people in the car made an adverse comment about his family and this made him angry and upset."

Sean Stewart admitted threatening and abusive behaviour and assault. He was ordered to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work.

“The other two Stewarts who pleaded guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour were each fined £290.”
