Knockbreck Primary in Tain reopens after 'major flood' scare forced closure of main building
A Tain primary school has reopened after a 'major flood' forced staff to send pupils home.
Knockbreck Primary had to close the main building of the school when the incident occurred on Friday, February 25.
The flood, which occurred some time before 11am, resulted in children in primary classes 5, 6 and 7 being sent home for the day.
The school took to social media to make an urgent appeal to parents and carers to arrange for pupils to be collected.
Highland Council confirmed on Monday that repairs had been carried out and that the school had been reopened.
A Highland Council spokesperson said: “A blocked drain in the disabled toilet caused flooding of the toilet cloakroom and the open area. Repairs and cleaning have been carried out and the school is open.”
