Ross group's guidebook champions the good life

The guide, written by Transition Black Isle (TBI) members Sheila Wickens, Agric Hadron and others, provides invaluable advice for any fruit and vegetable gardener in the north.
"Many gardening books are written with growers in England and the southern Scotland in mind and we have some quite different conditions to contend with here in the north," explained TBI director Julian Paren.
"This is an enlarged version of the first edition, which we published in 2010, containing additionally an authoritative 16-page chapter on seeds and seed-saving contributed by one of our expert members, Agric.
"The remainder is a direct reprint of the first edition but in an A5 spiral bound format maintaining its excellent typography and illustrations. It’s a great guide for local growers of all levels of experience and would make a perfect Christmas present."
Copies of the 146-page guide cost £12 and can be bought at Ferintosh Community Market at the Findon Hall, Culbokie this Saturday December 15, or ordered by e-mailing info@transitionblackisle.org
