Funeral home manager Jim Murray and his partner Fiona Campbell, a pupil support assistant (PSA) at Dingwall Primary, teamed up with the Dingwall club once again to offer a day of fun, crafts and footie for kids with special needs.

The free event also gave children the opportunity to meet some of the players and enjoy watching the game on the day - a treat for home fans with the Staggies overcoming the Steelmen of Motherwell.

Fiona said: “It was an absolutely fantastic day -worth every minute to see these children having fun and smiling so much.

“The feedback from everyone I spoke to was how it was such a great day and would we be repeating it again.100 per cent - we will be doing another one in March or April of next year.”

One mum said: “I’ve just been looking through photos of the boy at the ASN day. The smile on his face shows just how much he was loving it and seeing that pure happiness absolutely melts my heart.

“Days are not always full of smiles for Michael and it can be hard for him but that day is a memory he will always have and will always make him smile.”

Another said: “Thank you so much. This is a day that we will all remember for years to come. To make something like football relatable to ASN is such a wonderful thing for our children to feel a part off. I would have paid good money for a day like today so the fact you put it on with no fee really is something special.

“Thank you for putting the biggest smile on my boy’s face and for allowing me to witness him on that field - something I would never have dreamed possible.”
