Joe Gibbs has issued a warning that Belladrum may well be another sell-out this August

THE organiser of a two-day music festival popular with Ross-shire revellers has warned diehard fans to get their hands on tickets before they run out.

Joe Gibbs issued the warning as he announced Aztec Camera founder Roddy Frame had been added as a headline act to the bill of the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

The event, which takes place on the Belladrum estate on Friday/Saturday, August 3/4, has become established as a firm favourite on the Highlands’ ever-growing musical calendar.

Roddy Frame was today unveiled as the Saturday headliner of the Black Isle Brewery Grassroots Stage.

His band drew the attention of legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel when Frame was just 16. Debut album High Land, Hard Rain was released in 1983 and has since been hailed a classic. Hit singles since then have included Somewhere in my Heart and Good Morning Britain.

Said Joe Gibbs: "We have been trying to book Roddy to the Bella bill for quite a few years now, so we are especially thrilled to be able to announce him. It is a neat follow-on from his great friend Edwyn Collins of Orange Juice who has also headlined the Black Isle Brewery Grassroots Stage at Bella."

He also warned that tickets are starting to run low across the board and urged regular Bella patrons to buy now to avoid disappointment as another sell-out looks possible. "Traditionally, we issue a warning when our capacity hoves over the horizon into view, just so that our regular supporters aren’t disappointed. The time has come to issue that."
