THE A9 road north of Invergordon has reopened following a three-vehicle crash which left three people injured.

The driver of a van, who was travelling north, was taken to Raigmore Hospital by ambulance.

Police say he is now believed to be in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

A man and a woman who were within a car travelling south were also taken to the Inverness hospital.

The woman was flown to hospital by helimed with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

A man driving a second car, which was heading in a southbound direction, did not require medical treatment.

The accident happened one mile north of the Tomich junction near Broomhill, Invergordon. at 8.44am.

Police said the road was reopened at approximately 11.40am.

If anyone was in the area at the time of the collision, and witnessed the incident, they are encouraged to contact police on 101.
