A836 closed near Edderton Farm Cottages, Police Scotland officers in Ross-shire warn motorists

A ROAD crash closed the A836 near to Edderton this afternoon (Friday).

Police made the announcement via Twitter just after 3.30pm. Officers were alerted about the crash at 3.05pm

"The road is currently closed in both directions as the result of a road traffic accident near to Edderton Farm Cottages," said officers.

"It is unknown how long this closure will be in place. The public are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route."

A spokeswoman said Highland Council had been informed.

Police said one vehicle was involved in the crash, but were unable to provide further details at the time of writing.
