A SERIES of road closures have been announced for parts of Ross-shire.

A street in Dingwall, another in North Kessock and the main A890 Strathcarron-Achnasheen road will all be subject to unrelated temporary closures in December.

The first closure will affect a 100 metre stretch of George Street in Dingwall, from its junction with High Street, between 8am and 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 2. The closure is to allow for "essential" repairs by Scottish Water. Pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

The next closure will take place on Mill Crescent in North Kessock from 8am on December 11 to 6pm on December 12. The closure of a 40 metre section – which will run north-west from No 8 – is to allow telecoms engineers to carry out essential upgrade works.

And finally a 1km section of the A890 will be closed overnight from 10pm on December 15 to 6am on December 16 to enable Network Rail engineers to carry out an inspection of the Lair railway bridge. The bridge crosses the main road linking Strathcarron with Achnasheen. Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained during the closure, which is being carried out at night to minimise disruption.
