MOTORISTS are being reminded of an overnight road closure on a key Wester Ross route later this week.

The A890 Achnasheen to Strathcarron road will be closed at Lair Railway Bridge overnight on Wednesday into Thursday. This is to allow Network Rail engineers to carry out an inspection of the bridge.

A 1000 metre section of the A890 will be closed between 10pm on Wednesday and 6am on Thursday.

A lengthy detour will be in operation during the closure, with vehicles diverted via Shieldaig and Kinlochewe. However pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained throughout the closure.
