FLOODING has sparked the closure of the Far North Line and the cancellation of railway services on the route.
The 6.18am Wick to Inverness service was forced to terminate at Lairg this morning after the torrential rains of recent days caused flooding of the line at Ardgay.
ScotRail has confirmed that the "line is currently closed and services between Inverness and Wick will be cancelled or revised".
There was no further detail as to the extent of the flooding or how much of Wednesday's timetable might be affected.
