Scotland’s first festival created in response to the Covid-19 crisis will take place near Inverness has added more dates.

Capers in Cannich has announced it will run for a total of eight weekends across the summer.

The event was originally planned to run on a secluded countryside site near the Highland capital from Friday, May 28, to Monday, May 31.

However, following this week’s announcement, it will also run on the weekends of: June 11 to 14; July 9 to 12; July 23 to 26; August 6 to 9; August 27 to 30; September 3 to 6; and September 17 to 20.

Inverness outfit Hò-rò and festival favourites Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 have already been announced to play the opening weekend.

Much-loved Lewis band Face the West, Mark Sharp & the Bicycle Thieves, Scotland’s ska juggernaut Bombskare and Edinburgh indie band Wrest are among the exciting Scottish acts that will take to the Highland festival stage in June.

Festival director Karl Falconer said: “We’re very excited to announce that Capers in Cannich will run for additional seven dates across the summer, allowing as many people as possible to enjoy the exclusive, safe festival environment we’ve created.

“We’re also delighted to now be able to welcome families to this special event alongside guests looking to join us for the day.”
