Prime cattle and sheep sale prices at Dingwall and Highland Auction Marts

DINGWALL and Highland Marts Ltd yesterday sold eight prime cattle.

Prime bullocks (1) averaged 221.0p (+6p) and sold to 221p per kg and £1292.85 gross for a 585kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Bridgend Farm, Dingwall selling to Messrs Fraser Brothers, Butchers, Dingwall.

Prime heifers (7) averaged 215.3p (-9.1p) and sold to 226p per kg for a 505kg Simmental cross from Bridgend Farm selling to Messrs Fraser Brothers, Butchers, Dingwall and £1,264.45 gross for a 605kg Aberdeen Angus cross also from Bridgend Farm selling to Messrs John M Munro Ltd, Dingwall.

Also sold were 696 prime sheep.

Old season lambs (640) averaged 264.7p (+6.5p) and sold to 280p per kg for a pen of 42.5kg Beltex crosses and £124 gross for a pen of 45kg Beltex crosses both from Torgorm, Conon Bridge and both selling to Messrs John M Munro Ltd, Dingwall.

SQQ 36.5kg to 45.5kg (485) averaged 268.2p (+6.6p) per kg.

Feeding sheep (56) sold to £108 gross for a Texel cross ewe from Easter Dalziel Farm, Dalcross.
