Residents in Portmahomack have been having a competition to scare away Covid-19!

It was the idea of local woman Moira Everett to cheer up the children in the village in particular.

And Mary Maclean, who runs the Carnegie Cafe, is putting forward a prize, one of her popular wooden ducks which can also have the winner's name tagged to it.

Over the past week various creative scarecrows have appeared in every corner.
