PUPILS at one of Ross-shire’s biggest primary schools were given a motivational message from a pop star to help them through the coronavirus lockdown.

In a specially recorded video message for pupils at Dingwall Primary, chart-topper KT Tunstall – who visited earlier this year to lead a cookery class and perform a concert – urged youngsters faced with the challenge of learning at home to “hang in there”.

She had earlier visited to teach youngsters how easy it is to cook healthy, tasty food, giving an insight of what she whips up for band mates while on tour.

She said: “I hope you’re hanging in there listening to good music and dancing round the living room. I just wanted to say lots of love and I hope you are doing OK. Hang on in there and listen to Mr Raistrick! Lots of love.”

Highand Council posted on its web page: "Very exciting! Scottish singer, KT Tunstall left a wee message for pupils of Dingwall Primary!"

This week's North Star is out today.
