Women's safety when outside after dark has become part of the national conversation this week after the death of marketing executive Sarah Everard in London.

In Inverness many concerned locals placed messages on the Ness Bridge as tributes, one saying "she was just walking home". Another read "for Sarah and all our daughters".

Women across the country have spoken of fears of being outside, and the precautions many feel they have to take.

We want women to tell us how they feel in our poll.

On Twitter, author Caitlin Moran spoke about the difference between her and her husband when it comes to being outside after dark.

She said: "Being a woman: my 'outside' day finishes at sundown. If I haven't taken the dog for a walk/jogged by then, I can't.

"In the winter, it often means the choice between exercise and work. Today, I had to stop work at four to exercise. My husband worked until six, and is now off for a run."

In the Highlands, is it the same. As a woman do you feel afraid when you are out at night or do you believe that in the Highlands we are relatively safe?
