Police have appealed for information after a fire was started in Alness.

Police Scotland have launched an appeal for dash-cam footage and further information after bushes in a residential area of Alness were set on fire.

The incident, which took place yesterday afternoon, required the attendance of police and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service appliances to tackle the fire, police say.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “At about 4.45am on Sunday September 29, a number of bushes on Obsdale Road, Alness were deliberately set fire to.

“This resulted in both the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service and ourselves attending the scene. We are keen to identify three youths that were seen within the area at the time.

“Were you in the area? Could your dash-cam have captured something? Please contact us via 101 or alternatively anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information.
