Police in Easter Ross are hunting vandals who targeted an empty house in Fortrose.

The incident happened sometime between Tuesday, October 6 and 9.30am on Monday.

It is believed the suspects willfully and recklessly gained entry through an insecure door.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "They then forced entry into the house whereby they have caused significant damage within and throughout the property. It is apparent that this was a deliberate act of vandalism."

Anyone who saw anyone in the area or were acting suspiciously in the area at or around the time are asked to contact officers from the Highland and Islands Police Division on the 101 number – quoting reference PS-20200818-2658 or NE/4072/20.

Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to pass information anonymously.
