A police appeal has been issued relating to vandalism at Muir of Ord Railway Station.

TRANSPORT police have raised the alarm over a "high-value vandalism" at a railway station in Ross-shire and issued a description of two youths they would like to speak to.

The appeal from British Transport Police follows an incident at Muir of Ord Railway Station in which a ticket validator machine next to the shelter on Platform 2 was damaged "by a person who is believed to have been part of a large group of youths".

The damage was caused around 7.55pm on Friday, March 15.

A statement said: "Officers are particularly interested in speaking with a youth who was wearing a white jacket/top and a youth wearing a dark jacket/top who may assist with enquiries.

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is encouraged to come forward. You can call the British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
