Police name two men killed in Highland car crash; one man from Blackpool and one from Macduff; Dashcam or CCTV appeal as cops seek to find out how B970 accident happened

Enquiries are ongoing into a car crash which killed two men in the Highlands on Friday night.

Christopher Giles (39) from the Blackpool area was the driver of a black Ford S-Max which left the B970 near Inverdruie, Aviemore road collided with a tree. He was killed along with passenger Terence Noble (36) from Macduff in Aberdeenshire.

Nobody else was in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.

Police are still appealing for information after accident at around 11.45pm.

The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.

Sergeant Alasdair Mackay said: “Our thoughts remain with the families of both men at this time.

"We are continuing with enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

"The car was travelling west in the direction of Aviemore before the collision and we would ask anyone who may have seen it on the road or who has information which has not yet been passed on to come forward.

"This includes anyone who may have dash-cam footage or private CCTV from a business or property in the area.

"Anyone who can help can contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 4537 of Friday, February 7."
