Police want to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the road traffic incident.

POLICE are appealing for information after a boy was discovered lying injured on a pavement in Alness.

It is thought the teenager, who was not seriously hurt, was struck by a passing vehicle.

He was found by a passing motorist lying on the pavement of the B817 public road, by Ballachraggan Cottages, Alness, about 11pm on Tuesday night.

The 17-year-old was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance, but was later discharged.

A police spokesman said: "It was very dark and is possible that the vehicle, of which there is no description, may not have realised they had collided with a person."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Police on 0845 600 5703.
